Anyone heard of this term before? Is there a solution to resolve this?

Hi HQ, honeycomb happens when the storage location is only partially filled with inventory. In high density storage medium, there are instances where some of the locations are not filled.

It is similar to honeycombs in bee hives. Most of the spaces are filled with honey. There are empty spaces though.

One possible solution is to have good planning strategy for putaway.

It's also a good idea to install rackings in various heights to accommodate the various heights of the incoming pallets.

It is inevitable to have honeycombing in storage area. The concern here is how serious is the honeycombing issue.

The more serious the honeycomb, the more space us not utilized. Storage space is wasted.
