Why are some inbound containers palletized whereas others are non-palletized during receiving?
Some customers want to fully utilize the space within the container. They like to fill the whole interior with inventory. Thus, instead of pallets, they may be using slip sheets. Some decide to just stack cartons on the floor of the containers.
Others prefer the ease of loading and unloading the containers. In such cases, the inventory are palletized. To them, the time saved by ease of loading/unloading is more beneficial than optimizing the container space.
My understandin is that sometimes, slip sheet is difficult to handle.
