Would like to get anyone's feedback on this. Here's what I have:
Receiving/unloading trucks - forklift, counterbalance
Put Away - counterbalance
Order Pick - counterbalance, order picker
Replenishment - reach truck
Shipping/loading trucks - forklift, counterbalance
For putaway and order pick, some warehouses will use VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) MHE and reach truck.
There's also the pallet jack and power pallet truck.
For ecommerce warehouses, I understand there's a trend to use AGV (automated guided vehicle). The robots will bring shelves to the operators instead of pickers going to the various locations to fulfill the orders.
In certain operations, forklifts are fixed with different attachments for different inventory.
For example, clamps are used for moving big bulky items.
Can you give us any other example of this.?
